About
We are full of quirky goodness, and we would like to share some of that with you...
Here at QUIRKIFUL EVENTS, based in central Surrey, we create and style unique and personal wedding and events decoration. As well as 'unique' we also love words like personality, eccentricity, creativity, style, beautiful design - basically a visual splend-didi-o-sous marvel ... and of course we can't forget our favourite word, quirky.
Even if you only want a small personality 'tilt' thrown into your wedding decoration, we can inject it. Whether it's worked throughout your theme or decor style so that it gets picked up on in several spaces, or in a zone where you can blow your guests socks off with one impactual piece - we are the ones who can create something that shouts what you're about - after all, your wedding is that one day that is all about YOU and your love - so we say shout at least just a little!
With three choices to choose from, we can either create the whole look that's made just with you in mind with our design service (including Sweetie Table and themed backdrops), just supply those finishing touches through our hired props, or simply just take the stress out of the task of setting up the table decorations with our styling service.
Design Service
The way our design service works is we start by having a chat over coffee (or maybe tea?) about your decor yays and your oh no go woes (if any)... you may have tones of uncontrollable ideas sprouting up every day that comes closer to your wedding, or you may have absolutely nilt and would like some help in creating the starting point for your decoration style - we can help to reign in or tease out your inspiration and make it truely special with the end result. We want to put the right amount of quirk into your wedding, thinking about the decor you would both enjoy.
The next stage is producing a beautiful moodboard or design illustrations. We may even discuss the fun things at this stage like potential fabric choices, colour swatches and props examples at hand that you may like to complement the scheme. After design approval, the next stage is where I create your design and I'm bevering away in the background until your wedding date comes.
With designed decor schemes we also look at your scheme as a whole and see where we can make it as suited to your style as possible. As long as you are happy for us to do so, we do this by talking to your other suppliers, even your friends and family if they are planning to contribute, in order to find out what they have in mind so that every supplier is working on the same page. That could from slight colour variances to the type of fonts or layouts everyone is working with. There is sometimes a little bit of wedding planning involved, as everything is aligned together. Will your stationary match with your floristry, your cake match your scheme...? We want all of that to sit in perfect harmony to our decor and styling, and you'll be amazed at how everything has slotted togther at the end of all that planning and liasing.
The design service works in 4 steps - you can read more about that here.
Prop Hire
Create those finishing wedding touches with our Prop Hire, see avaliable items for hire here. If we create a design service for you, we may have even more props behind the scenes as we recommend ones suited especially to your design! If we don't have what you want, please get in contact and we'll see if we can find that special piece for you.
Styling
We love styling and you don't always want to ask guests to help with the set-up when you just want them to enjoy the day. Allow us to take the stress out of the styling process by making use of our design eye by doing it for you. We make sure everything has the perfect place and looks beautifully displayed.
With an eye for detail, we also don't miss a trick. We'll check for minor visual errors throughout your wedding spaces, to ensure everything looks as it should, including; hiding an unsightly item which doesn't need to be at the forefront of your wedding areas, adjusting a table cloth, ensuring chairs are evenly aligned, and liasing with the venue's events co-ordinator on all further visual checks and adjustments.
When styling our eye for detail means we put things where we think they are best placed - or perhaps not, if we believe the decor would look better without a prop or two. However, you are of course more than welcome to give us direction on where abouts you want things, with styling discretion. You can place your trust in our understanding of visual design, allowing you to focus on the best part - getting married! You can view our syling prices, and all other prices here.

Styling a design service from conception to creation for a wedding at Loseley Park, Surrey
About the designer

Martina has a creative background and can be found at home with her two lovely cats. She is inspired by all visual imagery from shop window displays, to fashion advertising, interior design, photography, homespun craft, typeface and graphic design, illustration, architecture - and of course beautiful wedding imagery!

In 2016 Martina decided to use this love of the arts to establish Quirkiful Events Wedding & Party decoration and styling. As a creative stylist, her main skill-sets are in styling, in colour and in coming up with ideas, often a little maveric suggestions for the alternative client; however always bearing in mind how 'creative' they feel they wish to be with both ideas and unusal colour schemes. She also works well with composition, typeface, understanding trends and texture - all of which are important in good design.
Martina encourages clients to show her images, heirlooms, photographs and personal possessions that inspire them. Sometimes it can be the smallest object that can spark a platherer of ideas. Undoubtly any designer's own style filters through into their work. Martina would describe her personal style as feminine romance, elegance, mbellishment, oppulent, vintage, eccletic, luxury materials and of course, quirky! She loves soft floaty materials in imagery (not just to wear) that are perfect for describing the romance of weddings, a little sparkle in gemstones and glassware, which can become a classic, elegant and romanticised wedding style. However she also takes a shine to vintage, burlesque, flowery materials and kitch props, period features. Her extensive prop hire list shows the sort of items she is drawn too.

Things she likes; Georgian interiors, Great British Sewing Bee, Interior Design Challenge, Amazing Spaces, colour, charity shops, car boots, antiques fairs, vintage hair and the glamour of pin up girls, designing for clients (of course!), a cup of tea.

Based in Surrey, she also enjoys networking with local businesses and believes in positive collaborative ventures with local suppliers. She is always happy to hear from designers, bloggers and other wonderful people in the wedding and party industry, and will recommend other talent in the industry to clients.
